Added a new poem to the Poem Corner and made a new guestbook.

Uploaded the new layout today, as you have probably noticed :) Even though it's not finished yet I think it looks better already...feedback is always welcome! Now I'll revamp and update the galleries and the guestbook, the popups in the guestbook piss me off. There's a nice article from Billboard in the article section for you to read in the meantime. Talks about Alanis' opinion of the recording industry.

Ahh, another update. Well we have a new pic of Alanis "on the street" here, a new poem ("Attention Needed") in the poem corner and I'm working on the new layout...

Well as you can see I am working on the site again, I am not quite happy with the way it looks. Anyway, while I'm working on it here is something that shows that Alanis can be really nice to fans. Thanks to Linnea for sharing her story. If you have a story you want to share, please feel free to submit it!

According to people who have met Alanis and asked her, the first single of the new album is going to be "Narcissus" and the album is scheduled for release in October.

It's official: Alanis mania is starting again, mailing lists and chatrooms are in overdrive after Alanis performed new songs at a recent concert in the USA. She said that the album was as of yet untitled and asked the audience for suggestions, she also said that it would be released shortly. Apparently the new songs are "harder" than the ones on SFIJ and tend to be more like the ones on JLP...Alanis even wears leather pants again :) So here's a setlist for those interested:

Unprodigal Daughter
21 Things
All i really want
Fear of Bliss
Hand in my pocket
Flinch
You learn
Bent For You
Forgiven
mary jane
Narcissus
Purgatorying
Sympathetic character
A Man
Uninvited
You Oughta Know
Ironic

the first encore thank u
not the doctor
the second encore u oughta know
ironic

Well well, I have been busy redesigning this website, cleaning up dead links, resorting stuff and just giving it a new feel. I hope you all like the result. For those of you who have already bookmarked this site, please change your bookmarks to http://www.definitelyalanis.com. Yes, I have actually paid for my own domain name. But not to worry, this site will never have any annoying banners or popups designed to make money for myself. I thought I really have to get this site ready for when Alanis finally releases her new album this year and we get to see new pictures, new touring dates, new rumours and new info in general about Alanis. Well that's it for me, I hope you enjoy the new design and please feel free to write to me with feedback, it makes everything worthwhile knowing you guys enjoy what I'm doing here.

Tim

Notes - There's a new Alanis Morissette tribute CD out there called Strung Out On Jagged Little Pill. You can read the review below and get more information in the "Cheap CD's" section or by clicking here. If you haven't got the Harting font, please download it in the download section.

Thanks for visiting :)

CD Review: Strung Out On Jagged Little Pill

I got this CD in my mailbox the other day and I was intrigued...the cover looks very much like the one from Jagged Little Pill and even the fonts used are similar. Well what do you expect from a tribute album right? I had actually heard something similar before, a string quartet tribute to Metallica (I don't know if it's by the same people) and I found it to be very interesting. Anyway, I listened to the CD and of course knowing JLP by hard the songs where easily recognised. For me it took a few times of listening before I could shake off the oh so familiar tunes you expect when you see the song title and be open towards something new, a fairly new concept that combines classical instruments with modern pop/rock songs. But once you accept that this will sound different from what you are used to, you are pleasantly surprised by the energy and feel this CD will create, especially if you have the right stereo equipment :)
This CD is definitely a must for Alanis Morissette fans, something that will stick out of your record collection as being visionary and daring, much like Jagged Little Pill itself. For soundclips please go here.
