Alanis Morissette Celebrates 10th Year of 'Jagged Little Pill'

Published: 2004-12-17

It’s hard to believe that Alanis Morissette has held sway over the world of alt-pop music for 10 years, but that is really the case. To celebrate the 10th anniversary the album that launched her career into hyperspace, Morissette is set to reissue ‘Jagged Little Pill’. Not only will the album come presumably with new liner notes, but there will also be bonus acoustic tracks included.

Originally released on June 13th, 1995 ‘Jagged Little Pill’ was the product of a move to LA and meeting with Glen Ballard who would become Morissette’s writing partner. The resulting album was a far cry from the singer/songwriter’s two previous dance-pop records released under the name Alanis in ’91 & ’92. Following the release of ‘Jagged Little Pill’, Morissette released ‘Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie’ in 1998, ‘Under Rug Swept’ in 2002, and her most recent LP ‘So-Called Chaos’ in spring 2004.

The track-listing of the 1995 version of ‘Jagged Little Pill’ is:

‘All I Really Want’
‘You Oughta Know’
‘Perfect’
‘Hand In My Pocket’
‘Right Through You’
‘Forgiven’
‘You Learn’
‘Head Over Feet’
‘Mary Jane’
‘Ironic’
‘Not The Doctor’
‘Wake Up’
‘You Oughta Know (Alternate Take)’

Future plans in the Morissette world also include the release of a greatest hits album later in 2005. Not a lot of information has been released surrounding the upcoming record, but fans can probably expect to see the inclusion of singles like ‘Ironic’, ‘Head Over Feet’, ‘Thank U’, and ‘Hands Clean’, among others. Morissette is also producing and starring in a mockumentary series called ‘I’m With The Band’, which will debut on Comedy Central.
